An intermediate form between a hammer and an adze will be sub-sequently described at p. 206. A perforated adze in the Museum of the Cambridge AntiquarianSociety, Fig. 123, is more truly celt-like in character, and appears,indeed, to have been made from an ordinary celt by boring a shaft-holethrough it. It is formed of a hard, green, slaty rock, and was found inBurwell Fen. I believe that another, but larger, specimen of the sametype was found in the same district in Swaftham Fen. Mr. G. W.
